Austin’s BIO.

He/Him/His

Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty…
— Theodore Roosevelt

My mission is to help motivated individuals become stronger, build muscle, lose fat and perform better. What sets me apart from other practitioners is the fact that I am not only a strength and conditioning coach, but also a Certified Massage Therapist. I attained my manual therapy license because, from early on in my training career, I was very drawn to corrective exercise and injury prevention. I had developed a keen eye for detail and technique during exercise, but I wanted to be able to palpate and perform tissue work to more efficiently optimize movement. However, I didn’t stop there - I also studied various functional neurology techniques which broadened my understanding of the human body and allowed me to address dysfunction in ways I never thought were possible.

Training, bodywork and functional neurology are the elements that make up my integrated approach to health and fitness. This multidisciplinary style keeps my clients training safely and efficiently but on a deeper level, it embodies something I truly believe - that therapy and training should be seen as a continuum instead of two separate, sometimes conflicting processes. This is why, in addition to becoming a CMT and diving into neurology, I also study the best techniques and methods for movement, strength and conditioning.

I love working with motivated individuals who want to achieve their fitness goals without worrying about past, present or future obstacles with pain and injury. I'm committed to becoming a master of my craft and I believe that my thirst for knowledge and 10 years of experience have accumulated me the skill set and expertise to help you attain unparalleled results. If you are ready to work hard and commit to yourself, I would be extremely grateful to have you along on my journey of health and fitness.

Testimonials.

I have been working with Austin for almost 3 years and during our work together, he has guided me through multiple fitness goals. First, we built a solid weightlifting foundation, then we focused on cutting during which I lost 21.2 lbs of fat to get to my leanest composition of 10.9% body fat and now we are continuously building more muscle mass and strength. Austin’s deep expertise in movement and physiology has helped me feel more confident and safer than ever at the gym. We work together very closely to set up structured yet flexible programs so they match both my fitness goals and ever-changing day to day life. His tailoring approach with attention to detail has made my training successful and enjoyable. I cannot recommend Austin enough for folks who are looking to better themselves on their fitness journey no matter what stage they are at.

Austin has been pivotal in my physical transformation over the last year plus.  As an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I was looking for a way to further build my strength while keeping my Bjj training consistent. Through Austin’s guidance, I have been able to implement a 4x a week lifting schedule and achieve my weight class goals without sacrificing my Bjj training.

His emphasis on correct form, functional strength, and caloric tracking has allowed me to build 10+ lbs of muscle while losing 17+ lbs of fat without the risk of lifting related injuries. I would highly recommend Austin to anyone who is committed to improving their fitness, regardless of where you are on that journey.

Austin is an amazing trainer and someone who I would highly recommend! His guidance and expertise helped me in making significant progress towards my strength training and fat loss goals. I trained with him for around six months, and during that time, I lost 29.2 lb of fat while simultaneously building strength and gaining lean muscle mass. To achieve this, Austin created training programs tailored specifically to my needs, taught me corrective exercises and instructed me on proper form/ technique for performing complex movements. He would always be there at my side, analyzing my form, making sure that I was lifting weights the right way and he also performed manual therapy to help with any specific injuries I was dealing with. He is extremely meticulous, and detail oriented in terms of tracking data - he created nutrition spreadsheets for me and monitored the numbers, updating me every week on how many macros - carbs/ proteins/ fats I should be ingesting and we would recalculate those numbers as I kept progressing towards my goals. I consider myself quite lucky that I got the opportunity to work with and learn so many things from him!

Austin Villamil is a gifted personal trainer who's had a tremendous positive impact in my health and overall fitness. I once had chronic pain in my right knee that limited my mobility. After not much progress with a physical therapist, Austin looked at me holistically, identified issues with my posture and imbalances in my muscles and worked with me over several months to get me running again without any pain. The guy has a great attention to detail, he's incredibly knowledgeable about the body, and he really cares about his clients. I've never been one to work out at a gym, but now it's become a bit of a habit and I look forward to our sessions together. I have a lot to thank Austin for, but probably the biggest is being able to go on hikes with my kids without knee pain.
